The name of our brand, AMALTHEIA, has a history that dates back to the dawn of time: "An ancient legend tells that Zeus, having escaped the fury of his father Cronus, was saved by his mother Rhea, who hid him in a basket hanging from a tree, entrusting him to his grandmother Gea, who in turn took him to the island of Crete and hid him in a cave. There, baby Zeus was entrusted to the care of the nymphs Adrasteia, Ida, and Amaltheia, the latter of whom, in the form of a goat, nourished the divine newborn with her milk.
Zeus, now an adult and lord of the universe, dethroned his cruel father and rewarded the three nymphs by placing Amaltheia in the firmament, which then became the constellation of Capricorn. He then borrowed one of her horns and gave it to his sisters. That horn became the famous CORNUCOPIA, or "horn of plenty," overflowing with food and drink for anyone who desires it.
